Throughout my career in music education, I have educated children and adults in a variety of educational settings such as universities, colleges, schools, pupil referral units, military bases, community centres, HM prison services, youth offenders’ units and more.

My production company, The SongLab, works in partnership with various arts organisations and music charities to offer music enrichment projects and mentoring services to children and young people who wish to engage with music making activities.

I am a passionate author, blogger and researcher who is constantly on the search for new and improved ways of developing the art of teaching and learning. I am also always eager to look for innovative and exciting ways of empowering the next generation of music industry professionals. Much of my research also sits in the evolving mechanics of the music business and key routes to market for emerging artists, whilst other areas of research sit in pattern recognition of contemporary music genres.

I am a two time ‘Mentor of the Year’ at the Birmingham Music Awards and my heart has and will always sit closely connected to using music as a tool to empower others.
